Meningitis Survivor Pushes Through The Pain

The 18-year-old made his homecoming Wednesday, after spending more than 50 days in hospitals battling a bacterial infection that nearly killed him. He suffered tissue damage so severe that doctors were forced to amputate his legs up to his knees and the tips of all eight of his fingers. Aaron had been scheduled to graduate with his classmates from Corvallis High School in early June. Instead, while his classmates celebrated the end of their high school careers, Aaron was wondering how much of his body would be consumed by the effects of meningococcal meningitis. Battling an unseen foe After experiencing some flu like symptoms the previous night, Aaron collapsed at home in the morning May 31, just over a week before his graduation.
